WHAT TO DO IN JUBA CAPITAL CITY OF SOUTH SUDAN
Juba was established in 1922 by the church missionaries in a small village called Bari village which is currently known as Juba. It was made capital city of South Sudan on 5th September 2011 after the country had got independence.
Juba is considered to be an administrative and commercial center for the people of South Sudan where thousands of people bring their agricultural products in the city markets for trading. The city has different amenities like banks, hotels, schools and hospitals as well as hosting the international airport of the country; favoring all classes of people who visit the city.

Watch Wrestling at Bor’s freedom square. Wrestling is one of the sports activities that are traditional in most of the tribes of South Sudan. In this activity participants remove clothes and challenge each other for a duel surrounded with a large number of spectators where the winner is offered heads of cattle, this activity can be watched in the weekend at the square.
Visit to the Dinka cattle markets and camps. Dinka is the most popular tribe in juba and South Sudan as a whole. Their markets and camps cattle play a big role in determining the status of the individuals and families, these cattle are usually seen in the markets taken for sale and cows are considered symbolic whereas the bulls are considered as a sight to behold.
Visit to the Waul cathedral. This is the most considered worship center in Juba located between the Gombura and Lanya Street. It was built in 1913 by the missionaries. The Sunday prayers attract a lot of people since the place is interesting and having three different Sunday services in three languages; English, Zande and Arabic is also a plus for the church. The cathedral is also large enough to accommodate big numbers of people.
Visit to the John Garang Mausoleum. John Garang de Mabior was a Sudanese politician and revolutionary leader and the president of the country that died on 5th July 2005 after a plane crush when he was coming from Uganda. The mausoleum is built at the Avenue of nation, a place where festivals are conducted and several photos of the former president are hanged around
White water rafting. This is not only done in Uganda but also South Sudan since the Nile River passes through the country. Water rafting crew has been set up near Nimule giving adventurous travelers an opportunity to enjoy the activity on the challenging rapids of the Nile from Nimule all the way to Juba.
Visit to the Nyakuron cultural centre. This is considered to be the best place to experience the diverse culture of the people of South Sudan. The centre was built in 1976 and it is used to show case the cultural heritage of the people of South Sudan with a large garden, night club, outdoor stage and an auditorium.
Visit to the freedom bridge. The freedom bridge is the first South Sudan permanent bridge over the Nile that was constructed and fully opened in May 19th 2022. The bridge is five hundred sixty meters long and is the first arched steel bridge in the country to span on the Nile River.
Visit to the Juba stadium. This is a small town stadium that is located at the sides of river Nile and it is a multipurpose stadium with a capacity of four thousand seats. It is a home of the South Sudan national team
Visit to the University of Juba. This is one of the largest universities in the country and is one of an interesting place to visit where the students are taught in English and other related languages and it was opened in 1977.
Accommodation. Juba is vast with a lot of accommodation facilities that range from luxury to mid-range and then budget that give comfort to the tourists who visit the city either foreign or domestic.
Visit to the White Nile. The White Nile is on the boarder points of the city where many people visit the place to do water rafting, visiting the fishing villages and gardens since the White Nile is the major source of water to be used in the gardens of the Sudanese.
