21 Days Grand Uganda Tour

Overview

Discover a lot during this 21days grand Uganda tour since it combines a lot of activities done in different destinations. You will spot much wildlife during your safaris such as big game elephants, giraffes, buffalos, antelopes, and many others. Birds such as ostrich, herons and mostly water birds will also be recorded. Several stopovers will happen for picnic lunch, taking photos, relaxing and others during movements. In other words, since it is a long safari check-in and out from different accommodation facilities will be automatic and you will also visit the craft shops to support the community. Detailed itinerary

Day1. Be picked up at the airport and transferred to the hotel

Be picked up at the airport by our well-trained driver guide who will take you through the briefing about the safari and then transfer you to the booked hotel for lunch. After lunch, you can opt to do a city tour, move around the lodge or visit any nearby craft shop to buy some souvenirs to take home for remembrance. After moving back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2. Drive to jinja and experience rafting on the R. Nile

After an early served breakfast, your driver-guide will meet and then drive heading to jinja for the best experience of rafting on the source of the river Nile. This experience is also known as white water rafting and it normally takes 2 to 4 hours depending on one's interest, enjoyment and how much is spotted during the experience. Thereafter move back to the lodge for lunch, relax and call it the end of the day.

Day3. Transfer to Mbale for Sipi falls hike

Arise early in the morning from your warm bed and have a well-prepared breakfast and then transfer to Mbale where you will enjoy the hike and explore the Sipi falls. During the hike, you will see more beautiful plants and flowers, butterflies and many others before even reaching the top of the falls. After the arrival at the top, you will view most of the beautiful scenery, the falls which will make your trip more colourful and feel like flying back home from what you will experience just on your third day of the trip. Move back to the lodge for dinner and a night's stay.

Day4. Depart Mbale to Pian-upe

On this fourth day, you will wake up early morning and have your breakfast then depart to Pian-upe. You can have a stopover for lunch before proceeding and if time is still your best ally you can relax a bit and then continue with the journey. Pian-upe is a wild reserve that harbors a good number of wildlife and beautiful birds at large. Therefore, keep alert with your camera to take photos and binoculars to view the distant objects. Proceed with the journey to the lodge for dinner and a night's stay.

Day5. Morning and evening game drive in Pian-upe

Pian-upe is one of the game reserves where you can your game drive and feels boom! So, you will wake and have your breakfast then set off for the first session of the morning drive where you have high chances of spotting numerous wildlife as they are rushing for breakfast too. For example, you will spot animals like leopards, cheetahs, hyenas and many interesting animals. Retreat to the lodge for lunch and prepare for the evening game drive. You will retreat to the field for the last session and take a chance to spot the animals that you might have missed in the morning. After moving back to the lodge for dinner and a night's stay.

Day6. Transfer to Kidepo, cultural encounter

You will wake up early morning and have your breakfast and then transfer to Kidepo National Park. While on your way expect to see many wild animals since the park is a Savannah area, for example, big game elephants, giraffes, buffalos, antelopes and many more. You will not miss out to record at least more than 20 bird species to make your day. Arrive and check in at the lodge as you enjoy your lunch and after move for a cultural encounter in the afternoon hours. After the experience, you will move back to the lodge for dinner and a night's stay.

Day7. Depart Kidepo and transfer to Murchison

After an early breakfast accompanied with a cup of coffee or tea you will start your journey to Murchison which will take you about 6-7 hours depending on your interest and how much may come across while on the way. You will have a stopover on the way for lunch before proceeding with your journey to Murchison falls National park which is the largest park among the ten protected national Parks that are in Uganda. After continue with your journey directly to the lodge where you will get your dinner and stay for the night.

Day8. Morning game drive and boat cruise

Game drive rewards you with numerous wildlife than any other activity. Therefore, you will wake up early morning and enjoy your breakfast then meet your driver-guide and set off for the adventure. As it has been said many animals can be spotted such as big cats, Uganda kob, antelopes and many more. After retiring to the lodge for lunch and preparing for the afternoon boat cruise. During this experience of boat cruise or boat ride, many birds are recorded, different fish species are spotted and many activities can also be done like fishing and many more. Retreat to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day9. Transfer to Kibale National park

Wake up early in the morning and have your breakfast then meet your driver to start your journey heading to Kibale National park which is located a few kilometers from fort portal the tourism city. You will have a stopover in Mubende for a short time to check in the local market and buy some fresh fruits and then proceed. You will continue and still have a stopover in Fort portal for lunch, relaxing and stretching, thereafter proceed to Kibale National Park directly to the booked lodge where you will have your dinner and stay for the night.

Day 10. Chimpanzee trekking and crater lakes exploration with Isunga cultural community Adventures

Chimpanzee trekking is the main activity done in Kibale National Park and is in three shifts that are early morning at eight, at eleven, and afternoon at two. Therefore, have your breakfast early morning and drive to the starting point in Kanyanchu where you will meet the ranger guide who will accompany you in search of chimpanzees and after moving back to the lodge for lunch. You will also explore crater lakes while still in Kibale with Isunga cultural community where the guide will take you to more than four crater lakes within three to four hours. Retire to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day11. Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Arise from your bed early morning and have your breakfast. After packing your things and check out as you head to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Since Kibale is dotted with a good number of crater lakes you can have several stopovers on them and then continue to Queen. You will also have a stopover at the equator in Kasese where you will have your lunch, relax, take photos and stretch. Proceed with the journey to the lodge for the stay.

Day12. Game drive and boat ride at Kazinga channel

The game drive is the best experience you will have after your breakfast where will be with the park ranger with a 4×4 car. You will be able to spot numerous wildlife like herds of elephants, buffalos, giraffes, buffalos and many others. Birds will also be recorded but mostly the birds of play (big birds) during the game drive and after moving back to the lodge for lunch. The boat cruise will be there after lunch and many water animals are spotted during the ride like hippos, and crocodiles without leaving behind the water birds.

Day 13. Drive to Ishasha sector for the tree-climbing lions and transfer to Bwindi NP

Enjoy your breakfast early morning and switch off for the rare tree-climbing lions in the Ishasha sector. You have high chances of spotting them resting up the trees or meeting them sleeping in the midst of the road. There is many wildlife apart from the rare tree-climbing Lions you also spot elephants eating alongside the road, buffalos, and many more. You will have your picnic lunch as soon as leave the park and proceed with the journey to Bwindi National Park.

Day14. Gorilla trekking

Wake up early morning, have your well-prepared breakfast and set off for the journey as you head to the headquarters where you will the guide who is a park ranger. The guide will take you through a quick briefing and then start your walk searching for gorillas. Take a note that after getting a certain family of gorillas you are required to spend with them only three hours whereby you spend one searching for them, one hour in their presence with them and one hour retreating to the starting point. You will see how they eat, communicate, jump, take care of the kids and many more. After you will move back to the lodge for lunch and relax

Day15. Bwindi to lake Bunyonyi

You will enjoy your well-prepared and delicious breakfast early morning and then check out from Bwindi as you head to lake Bunyonyi. Lake Bunyonyi is one of the fresh and largest lakes in Uganda which is full of stories and memorable moments dotted with numerous islands. As you still moving you will enjoy the spectacular views and you will enjoy your lunch as soon arrive at the lodge and after you can relax and prepare for tomorrow's activity.

Day16. Lake Bunyonyi experience and zip lining

After an early breakfast, you will move to the community project where you will meet a well-trained guide who to take you to hike one of the surrounding hills which will offer you a beautiful aerial view of the lake with the different islands. The guide will fully explain and answer all questions that you feel like asking and will tell most of the stories about this amazing lake. After moving back to the lodge for lunch as you prepare for zip lining after the meal. Zip lining can be one of the best experiences where you will pass over water as you pass birds in the air.

Day17. Depart to Lake Mburo National Park

You will wake up early in the morning and have your breakfast. You can first take your time while still in your cage viewing the beauty of Kabale and Lake Bunyonyi at large before you check out for the next destination. After meeting your driver and move heading to lake Mburo National Park and say bye to lake Bunyonyi. As soon as you start entering lake Mburo you will be welcomed by beautiful zebras, Impalas and much other wildlife found in the park. You will continue with your journey and check-in with the booked lodge for the rest.

Day18. Game drive and milking.

Lake Mburo National Park is located in the western part of Uganda in the Mbarara district. It's the best national Park for cattle keepers therefore, you will have your breakfast as early as possible and move to one of the farms for a milking experience. If possible, you can milk using your hands and then move back to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon meet your driver and the park ranger who will accompany and guide you during the game drive. You have a high chance of spotting wildlife like zebras, Impalas, warthogs, buffalos, elephants and many more. After moving back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day19. Transfer back to Kampala

Arise early morning, have your well-prepared breakfast and after enjoying the morning sunshine raise as you sunbathe too. Check out and drive towards Kampala where you will have several stopovers for different occasions. Take an example you will have a stopover at the equator in Kayabwe district to stretch before continuing with your journey, enjoy your picnic lunch, take photos and record videos for remembrance while back home and proceed with your journey to Kampala.

Day20. Relaxing with the option of a city tour

Since it has been a long trip you will wake up early morning and have your breakfast. Thereafter you can be passing through the photos you took while relaxing in your room or around the lodge and feel the breeze. After having your lunch, you can opt to tour around the city where you will visit the historical sites, and museums or visit the craft shops to buy some souvenirs to take home for remembrance. Retreat to lodge for supper and overnight stay

Day21. Departure.

Wake up early in the morning after your well-prepared breakfast accompanied by a cup of tea or coffee depending on your choice. You can have your last sunbath in Uganda still at the lodge and move around as you explore the beautiful flowers, birds mostly the sunbirds and many more. Biden affair well to members at the lodge and meet your driver to drop you at the airport that is Entebbe international airport and fly back home.
